MIX 02 of the collaboration between GoodGym and NTS, bringing you mixes to run to. Hannah Holland brings you mad soundscapes and off-beat rhythms and samples from the nowhere you've been before to take you on different journey on your next run. TS: Hey Hannah... welcome to GGXNTS. Stoked to have you on the bill. What's your show and when is it? HH: Hello, it's a pleasure to be here! My show is monthly on a Monday from 12-2. I play an eclectic blend of house, acid, techno, electro, punk and new wave and anything else i feel like. Its a great space for me to experiment. TS: How do you feel about running? HH: Its my favourite form of exercise, it represents freedom and makes you feel amazing afterwards. TS: Has motion been important to your progression as an artist? HH: I always get ideas listening to music on journeys, that's when my mind is the most deeply engaged with music. There is nothing i find more inspiring than running through the park and listening to a new album, or riding on a bus through the streets of London, or travelling on a plane to a new city with a soundtrack keeping me company. TS: Running can be a way to release the city, but also discover, what does running do for you? HH: Running helps me feel motivated and energised. TS: Can you name a couple of big highlights to this month's tracks? HH: When are people going to hit their fastest k? I love the beginning warm up vibes with some lush instrumentation, then around around 1/4 of the way in, it starts to ramp up , a highlight of mine being Francois K's Areo Mix of Kraftwek going into some edgy techno bass slices for maximum speed! TS:So track 3 we're properly warmed up and just starting to cruise, what's this track going to do for us? HH:Around the 12 min mark, we descend into deep techy beats, to keep that heart rate rising then lift up into some snappy house beats and power on into some old skool vibes and techno for ultimate cruise control TS:Other than the weekends hip-flexing, what's coming up? Are you training for anything? HH:This weekend, ill be doing a DJ club marathon on Saturday for Trade at Egg club, then Pink It Up at Brixton's POW , raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness, then finally Dawn At Lightbox for the after-hours session. I'm doing my stretches now :)
